Binghamton, NY – The (0-0-1) Mississippi Sea Wolves collected a point in their Federal Prospects Hockey League debut Friday night after a 4-3 overtime loss to the (3-0-0) Binghamton Black Bears.

Vinnie Susi scored the first Sea Wolves goal at 17:50 of the first period on an assist from Chris LeveilleThe power play goal pushed Mississippi out in front 1-0.

In the second period, the lead was doubled to 2-0 courtesy of Denys Honcharenko (7:59) on a backhand shot from the crease. Leveille earned his second point of the night on the rush.

The Black Bears responded with a pair of goals just 1:15 apart between Tyler Gjurich and Geno DeAngelo to tie the game at two apiece. Gjurich’s tally came on a 5-on-3 man-advantage while DeAngelo struck during even strength.

In overtime, Thompson proved to be the hero of the night after burying a pass behind the net off the stick of Cameron Yarwood for a 4-3 Binghamton victory. The Sea Wolves and Black Bears will meet again to close out the two-game series on Saturday, Oct. 22.
